DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 22

Imlibenla Jamir, the reigning Miss Nagaland who visited the children at Ebenezer Orphanage Home in Dimapur, on Friday was touched as the children laid their tiny hands on the reigning queen and prayed for her wellbeing. “I was so touched when they prayed for me. I feel humbled by today’s experience and I’m thankful that I was able to do this. And it is my prayer that God would continue to bless these children,” Imlibenla was quoted as saying.
As the beauty queen mingled with the children, they stood up one after the other and introduced themselves. She encouraged them to study hard and to always remember God in whatever they do. She also gave each child with a gift.
Narrating the experience, Imlibenla said it was her dream to do charity works and have always admired people who do such deeds. “Today God has let it happen and I feel blessed and happy.”
Furthermore, she reportedly said meeting the children was an enlightening experience for her. “So many times we complain about our lives but today’s experience made me realize how fortunate we are and we ought to thank God for all that he has given us.”
Akum Amri, is the founder and director of Ebenezer Orphanage Home. The home was established in 2005 with just three orphans but now it has 22 children.
