Organisations condemn Dimapur murder

Dimapur, June 6 (EMN): Sangtam Peoples’ Forum Dimapur District (SPFDD), Nzauna Students’ Union (NSU), Dimapur Eastern Naga Students’ Union (DENSU) and Naga Rice Hotel Union (NRHU) have strongly condemned the gruesome cold blooded murder of three youths namely Tia Sagtam, son of Tangthsenjü from Kiphire district; Tateutui Newme, son of Agie from Peren district; and Hori Teron from Karbi Anglong on June 4 at Golaghat road, Dimapur.
In a condemnation letter, SPFDD president, Bitong Sangtam, and the information secretary, Imlikumzuk Sangtam, stated that such act of lawlessness should be condemned by all.
The organisation has, meanwhile, appreciated the government machinery for prompt action by constituting a special investigating team headed by additional deputy commissioner of police (crime) to probe and investigate the crime. SPFDD has appealed to the law enforcing agency not to leave any stone unturned into the case and award a befitting punishment as per the law to the perpetrators.
In another statement, Nzauna Students’ Union (NSU) has also vehemently condemned the brutal murder of its bonafide member Tateutui, son of Agie and his two other workers on the night of June 3.
According to the union president, Inrei Namrei, the deceased was a student of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Jalukie, who honestly supported his own study by trying to do manual job during his summer vacation during which he was murdered.
The union stated that such crime committed on such innocent student by unknown co-workers deserve stringent punishment as per the law of the land. The union further supported the moved taken by the Zeme Council Dimapur and Sangtam Union Dimapur. The Dimapur Eastern Naga Students’ Union (DENSU), while condemning the murder of three youths on June 4 in Dimapur, appealed to the special investigating team to nab the absconding murderers and punish them at the earliest. It also urged all the civil societies and concerned citizens to condemn such crime.
In condemning the murder of three youth, Naga Rice Hotel Union (NRHU) has appealed to the administration and law enforcing agencies to arrest the culprits at the earliest and punish them according to the law. The union also conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and pray for the deceased souls to rest in peace.
