Orange from Nagaland wins national beat contest
Diphu, Feb. 21 (EMN): ‘Orange,’ a musical band from Nagaland won the 47th Karbi Youth Festival (KYF) national beat contest 2021 which was concluded on February 19 at Karbi People’s hall, Taralangso, Diphu.
The contest was organised by Racket Trailed Musical Society in collaboration with Karbi Cultural Society (KCS). The winner was award cash of INR 1,20,000, while 2nd and 3rd runners-up were awarded with cash of INR 80,000 and INR 50,000 respectively. The 1st and 2nd runners-ups were awarded to Optic Inertia of Karbi Anglong and Fifth Note of Nagaland respectively.
In the individual category, the best vocal was award to Fifth Note; best guitarist to Orange; best bassist and best drummer were awarded to Necroscope of Shillong. The winners received cash prizes of INR 5000 each.
The judges for the event were Daniel Engti, Jimmy Tisso, Thengchum Teron and Nishant Hagjer.
The event was attended by Ayushman Dutta, president of International Music Festival, Guwahati. Earlier, the event was inaugurated by president of Karbi Cultural society, Chandra Sing Kro.
