Only 32 ILP case arrests in one year

Dimapur, Aug. 28: Till 2017, the police authorities in Nagaland could arrest 32 persons in connection with Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the state.

This information was stated in a report of the department of Information and Public Relations, which listed various activities of the Home department and its agencies.

Village Guards
The Nagaland Home department in 2018 placed INR 100 lakh under the state plan to construct infrastructure spread across five Village Guards (VG) districts, with a total of 9,583 VG personnel.

NGO
During the financial year 2017-18, the dept. generated revenue of INR 2, 46,000 from the society’s registration cell. There were 88 new registrations and 140 societies that were renewed.

Police
In the police dept., the report was mainly about enforcement. Till Dec. 11 2017 the police could arrest only 32 persons in connection with ILP. They seized 2, 12, 820 bottles of liquor; 6, 478 kg 747 gm of cannabis; 2, 63, 500 medico drugs; 47 kg, 221 gm and six packets of opium; and 15 kg 761 gm and four packets of brown sugar/heroin, it was informed.

Fire and Emergency
The report stated that the Fire and Emergency services saved property worth INR 3733.60 lakh. The estimated property that was lost during the year was about INR 1509.22 lakh.

State guest houses
The budget allocation for Nagaland House in Delhi was INR ‘985, 31000’ and the revenue collection during 2017-18 was INR 37, 56, 825. From the Nagaland House in Kolkata the generated revenue was INR 101, 33, 000 for 2017-18.

The budget allocation the Nagaland House (medical lodge) in Guwahati was INR 152, 82, 000 for 2017-18. Also, the revenue collection for the Nagaland House at Six Mile from seat rent amounted to INR 21, 07, 600 and INR 10, 36, 800 from seat rent (medical lodge).

The Nagaland Tourism Counter at LGBI International airport in Guwahati paid a monthly rent of INR 18, 786 to the Airport Authority in Guwahati.

Further, the govt. of Meghalaya has allotted prime land near the NEIGRIMS in new Shillong for construction of a medical lodge for Nagaland on lease for 30 years w.e.f. Aug. 1 2016.

Clause (5) of the lease agreement stipulates that the site should be put into use within a period of five years (i.e. within Aug. 1 2016 to 2021) failing which the allotment was liable to be cancelled by the lessee. As of now only the boundary fencing has been constructed, the report stated.

Likewise, according to the report, the guest house at Kohima generated revenue of INR 68, 000 from April 2017 to Nov. 2017. The budget allocation for 2017-18 was INR 74, 02, 000.
