Dimapur, May 21 (EMN): To facilitate online access of Birth & Death certificates, the department of Economics and Statistics, Nagaland has launched the online registration of Births and Deaths on April 19. An applicant can now register/apply for a birth and death event occurring within 21 days of the date of occurrence through this portal.
An update from DIPR informed that at present the service is available only within the jurisdiction of Kohima Sadar for the registrar of Births & Deaths, Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Nagaland, registrar of District Economics and Statistics, Nagaland, and Registrar of District Economics and Statistics office, Kohima. However, the service will be extended to other areas in a phase manner.
Applicants can access the online application through ‘crsorgi.gov.in’ and log in through the General Public Signup icon. The certificates generated from the system have a unique registration number, QR code, bar code, and embedded facsimile signature of the registrar along with the imprinted union, state, and Births & Deaths logos.
These computer-generated certificates are to be recognised as legal documents along with the certificates issued manually by the registrars of Births & Deaths, it added.
