Dimapur, Nov. 15 (EMN): consumer awareness programme under the theme “Rights and Responsibilities” at Chozuba town on Nov. 14, ADC Chozuba Japheth Woch said one’s right should be expressed or used in the right way and should not be misused.
As we live in a technological age, it is high time that consumers know his or her rights and responsibilities especially in dealing with the traders and service providers. Woch said.
The prograemme was organised by the Department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection, Phek in collaboration with Phek District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA).
Speaking on the programme’s theme, resource person, Panel Lawyer for PDLSA Shekhotso Rhakho explained who is a consumer and what should a consumer do when he or she is cheated by traders or services providers.
He also shared ways and remedies to consumers as to how a consumer can complain against such mal practices by traders or service providers.
Assistant Controller of Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection Phek Shiekhozo highlighted the objective of the seminar.
The seminar was attended by students, NGOs, GBs, business union, teachers and others of Chozuba town.
