One person killed, 5 injured in road accident in Wokha

Wokha, Sep. 14 (EMN): One person was killed and five others injured after a Dimapur-bound vehicle met with an accident at Satsuphen village, around eight kilometre away from Wokha town, on Tuesday morning at around 9:40 am.

The Dimapur-bound vehicle from Wokha was carrying five passengers when it lost control on a sharp hairpin turn and went down after hitting a residence on the roadside, injuring a young girl who was inside the house.

One passenger identified as Yanthungbemo Kikon of Tsungiki village studying at Patkai Christian College, succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.

The passengers were said to have been admitted to Civil Hospital Wokha and Panacea Nursing Home in Wokha.

Meanwhile, All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) Wokha unit appealed to the public to refrain from circulating false information, saying that a case has been registered at Wokha police station. It said that necessary action would be taken accordingly by the competent authority.

Meanwhile, ANTA Wokha Unit condoled the demise of Yanthungbemo Kikon, who lost his life at the unfortunate mishap at Satsuphen village on Tuesday.

The association expressed its heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
