Kohima, March 4 (EMN): Two of the three medical students from Nagaland, who were stranded in the war-torn Ukriane, have been evacuated, while the remaining student is also said to be ‘heading homeward’.
The student, who was staying at Nagaland House in New Delhi due to unavailability of flight to Nagaland after arriving in the capital city on Wednesday, reached her hometown Dimapur on Friday.
Machi Yirakchang, who is studying medicine at Ternopil National Medical University in Ukraine, also arrived in Mumbai at 12:10 pm on Friday in a government-arranged flight. He took the flight for India from Budapest via Kuwait, informed his elder brother Mirhu Terieng.
However, Yirakchang took a flight to Delhi (on his own arrangement) on the same day as there is no Nagaland House in Mumbai.
He is currently staying at his sister’s place in Delhi and would be flown to Nagaland today, March 5, informed Terieng.
Meanwhile, Amenla Aier, who is studying medicine at Odesa National Medical University in Ukraine, is also on her way to India, according to her father.
It was informed that she moved out from Romania on Friday evening along with the other (Indian) evacuees and is ‘heading homeward’.
