One killed in Mokokchung road mishap

Mokokchung, March 25 (EMN): One person died on Wednesday when a car veered off a steep slope on NH-702(D) at Yimyu ward in Mokokchung, traffic officials informed.

According to officials, a Maruti van coming from town area veered off the road and rolled an approximate 250 feet down a steep slope at around 11:55 am. According to police, two occupants who sustained severe injuries were recuperating in the hospital. The driver of the vehicle identified as Sashiwati Walling from Khensa village, residing at New Market area, was verified spot dead by the authority.

The injured persons have been identified as Sashitemjen from Mekuli village and Imlisowa from Ungma village. Officials said that further investigation is on, as the cause of the accident has not been ascertained yet.
