Mokokchung, June 16 (EMN): Father’s Day celebrations in Mokokchung town were marred by the news of a collision involving a truck and three other vehicles, which had left one person injured on Sunday afternoon.The incident occurred right after father’s day service at Kumlong ward, traffic officials said.
The truck, driven by Merentoshi Jamir rammed into a Maruti 800, which further collided with two other vehicles. The collision left one person, who was washing his vehicle, injured, according to officials.
The incident occurred at around 12.10 pm. The injured person was immediately rushed to Lenjem Hospital for treatment.
According to traffic officials, the truck was headed towards Tuensang district with building materials from Jorhat, Assam. The truck driver is in police custody. Officials suspect that negligence on the part of the driver might have caused the mishap.
Further investigation is on, police said.
