One person was injured as clash between Yimchunger and Chang tribes reoccurred. The two tribes of Chendang Saddle and Yakhao village under Tuensang district resorted to fighting Wednesday morning.
Sources informed that the tussle between the two tribes reoccurred at around 6 am with huge gathering of volunteers from both the villages near Chendang Saddle with all sorts of war devices.
Heavy exchange of fire took place between the two groups for almost an hour from 6 am while intermediate firing continued for almost three hours, sources said.
In the process, one Chingmak Chang of Chendang Saddle village sustained bullet injury in the abdomen. He was rushed to the nearby primary health centre and after first aid, the victim was shifted to Tuensang civil hospital for further treatment. He is stated to be out of danger, sources said.
Further, Tuensang Deputy Commissioner Alem Jongshi told this correspondent over phone that the situation is presently under control but tense. He also said personnel of IRB and Assam Rifles and ADC Noklak with DBs are stationed at Chendang Saddle to control the situation.
