A MOBILE Squad team arrested one car lifter along with the stolen vehicle on Saturday afternoon from the Chakesang Colony, Dimapur.
The Bolero bearing Registration No. AS0I 5E 3097 was reportedly stolen from Habisnagar, Guwahati, on August 28.The accused has been identified as one Lokho Mao, son of Sani Aleedimoi of Rupunamei village under Senapati district, Manipur. Police sources said the accused with his accomplice fled from the Khatkhati Check Gate when the Assam police signalled them to stop. The accomplice one Kokho, son of Ashulu of Mao Gate, who escaped, is still at large.
Based on information from their Assam counterpart, Dimapur police launched a search operation in which the accused was intercepted by the Mobile Squad from Chakhesang Colony, Dimapur.
The two accused are presently a resident of Viola Colony, police said.
The original registration of the vehicle was AS0I DC 9003. The accused along with the vehicle has been handed over to Assam police as the case was registered with Habisnagar Police Station, Guwahati, police sources added.
