One held with opium

Dimapur, Feb. 8: Personnel from 164 INF Bn. (H&H) Naga Regiment, C/O 99 APO while conducting MVCP at NH-2, near Phesama Police Check Gate, on February 6, intercepted one passenger Tata Winger bearing registration number MN-01S-7617 bound for Dimapur from Imphal and recovered suspected opium weighing 2 (two) kilos (crude form) and 3.50 grams (powder form). In this connection, one person identified as Janghaolen (19 yrs), son of Ngamgin of Haotak Phailen village, Churachandpur district, Manipur was arrested. The illegal contraband along with the accused was later handed over to South Police Station, Kohima and a regular case vide South P.S Case No. 09/17 U/S 22 (c) NDPS Act has been registered against him further investigation.
