The one-day sixth session of the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly presided by Speaker Chotisuh Sazo was held on Tuesday. During the question hour, altogether 15, including 12 starred and three unstarred questions, were raised by the Opposition Congress MLAs.
Assembly Special Secretary AE Lotha read out the assent of the Governor to the Nagaland Appropriation (No. 3) Bill 2014 which was passed by the House during the Budget session allowing the State government to withdraw an amount Rs 12473.45 crore as the budget for the year 2014-15.
Chief Minister TR Zeliang laid a copy of the annual administrative report for 2009-10 of the Nagaland State Mineral Development Corporation Limited and the Nagaland Information Commission for 2013-14.
Parliamentary Secretary Y. Vikheho Swu laid the annual report for Nagaland Irrigation & Flood Control Engineering Service (Group A&B) Rules 2014.
Chairman of Assembly Public Accounts Committee Toyang Changkong Chang presented the 112th report of the PAC on examination of the report of Comptroller & Auditor General (CAG) of India for the year 2010-11 and relevant Appropriation and Finance Accounts. He also presented the 113th report on the examination of the report of CAG for the year 2010-11 performance audit on Public Distribution System (PDS) in Nagaland. Chang also laid the 114th report of the Committee on Excess over voted grants and charged appropriations incorporated in the CAG for the year 2000-01, 2005-2006, 2008-09 and 2009-10.
Chairman of the Estimates Committee Hukavi Zhimomi presented 119th report of the committee on action taken on the observations and recommendations contained in the 114th report of the Committee on Estimates pertaining to Irrigation and Flood Control department. He also laid 120th report on Action taken on the observations and recommendations contained in the 118th report of the Committee on Estimates pertaining to Industries and Commerce (Central Transport Subsidy) department.
Parliamentary Secretary for Higher Education Deo Nukhu introduced the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI) University Amendment Bill, 2014. The Bill would be taken up for consideration and passing in the next session of the House.
Subsequently, Parliamentary Secretary for Justice & Law N. Jacob Zhimomi introduced the Government Resolution for Ratification of the Constitution (One Hundred and Twenty First Amendment) Bill, 2014. The resolution reads “That this House ratifies the amendment to the Constitution of India Falling within the purview of clause (b) of the provision to clause (2) of article 368, proposed to be made by the Constitution (One Hundred and Twenty First Amendment) Bill, 2014, as passed by both the Houses of Parliament.” The resolution was adopted by voice vote.
Subsequently, Speaker Sazo adjourning the House sine-die and also conveyed Christmas and New Year greetings.
