One arrested for forging an official document in Mokokchung

Mokokchung, Sep. 7 (EMN): A man has been arrested from Tuli town for counterfeiting an official document and signature of a government officer in Mokokchung district.

An update from the superintendent of police (SP), Mokokchung on Monday informed that the First Information Report (FIR) was received at Changtongya police station from sub-divisional officer (SDO), Changtongya on September 4.

In the FIR copy, the SDO stated that he had received a copy of a forged official document with his signature, circulating through WhatsApp.

‘The forged document is a permit order, allowing one Ziaur Rahman, a resident of Bardarpur, under Karimganj in Assam to transport coal by train from Tuli railway station after the Covid-19 lockdown in Nagaland is lifted,’ the SP informed.

In this connection, an investigation was carried out and arrested one Lipoktemsu, son of Putumeren from Wameken village, residing at Chuchuyimlang town from Tuli town.

A case has been registered at Changtongya police station under section 465/468 IPC R/W 66 IT Act for further investigation.
