Wokha, July 10 (EMN): In a case of drunken driving, one Maruti 800 with two occupants rammed into a stationary Gypsy car in Wokha town on July 10 at around 2 pm.
The incident took place at Centre Point in Wokha town during rush hour. It was informed that the car rammed into a stationary Gypsy car and subsequently landed at one of a paan shop located within the vicinity.
Fortunately, the driver and one occupant escaped without any serious injury. It was learned that the driver, in his 50s, incurred injuries on his head while the other occupant escaped unhurt.
According to a traffic police report, the driver was driving the car under the influence of alcohol. It informed that the case has been registered with the police. It further informed that the driver had assured to bear all the expenses for repairing of the damaged car and handed cash to the owner of the damaged shop.
