A newly constructed office building-cum-multipurpose hall of Officers’ Hill (Thegabakha) Colony Council (OHCC) and community bore-well was inaugurated by MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro on Saturday in Kohima.

The two-storeyed building was constructed mainly to cater to the needs of the colony members including the Government Middle School at Officers’ Hill Colony.

Addressing the gathering, Nakhro appreciated the residents of officers’ colony for ushering in drastic change in terms of development and cleanliness. He was hopeful that the facility would cater to the needs of the community and added that the new community hall would bring people together in one place for a better understanding and development.

He encouraged the residents to unite stating that development would come through cooperation and mutual understanding among the people.

Presenting the building report, Vikheto Shohe, convenor of building committee, stated that the two-storeyed building was constructed with generous contributions from many well wishers including the former Nagaland Governors namely PB Acharya and RN Ravi as well as from MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro. He also informed that an amount of approximately INR 18 lakh was spent for the construction.

Kezhalezo Solo, president of Officers’ Hill Youth Organisation (OHYO), presented a brief report on community bore-well.
