Manipur social welfare minister Ak Mirabai in a written reply to an unstarred question of Ukhrul MLA Samuel Risom, informed the state assembly on Friday that about 16,062 old age pension forms were received against the distribution of 17,000 forms in the state in the year 2012-13.
Maximum number of forms were received from Imphal West District (4063) while the minimum from Chandel district (550).Among the hill districts maximum number of forms were received from Churachandpur district(1283) followed by Ukhrul (851),Saitu Gamphajol(705)and Senapati(604).Meanwhile, the state authority is targeting to complete augmentation of water supply scheme at Shangshak and Lunghar in Manipur’s Ukhrul district by August 31 and June 30 this year. This was disclosed by the state Public Health engineering department minister Irengbam Hemochandra during the question and answer session of the ongoing budget session of the assembly today. Replying to a starred question by Ukhrul MLA Samuel Risom, Minister Hemochandra informed the house that the amount released as on February 20 this year was Rs 547 lakhs including Rs 55 lakh state share for Shangshak water supply scheme while Rs 424 lakhs including 42 lakh states share for augmentation of water supply scheme at Lunghar. The contractor of Shangshak project was one VS Nganingkhui while Jesse Vashum takes care of Lunghar scheme.
In another reply, the state health minister Phungzathang Tonsing assured that the government will inaugurate the Public Health Centre building at Keithelmanbi under Andro assembly constituency within a short time. However he did not specify the date and time for the inauguration.Minister Phungzathang was replying to a question by Trinamool MLA Th Shyamkumar of Andro.Minister also assured that the PHC will be upgraded to the status of 24x7 health care centre to provide treatment to pregnant women and others.
Regarding a question on shifting of VDF post at Fishery gate Thangmeiband, Deputy chief minister Gaikhangam said the government has no plan as of now. But he assured that the matter will be look into soon.
