Officials attend national conference of chief secretaries

DIMAPUR — Nagaland Chief Secretary, J Alam, along with senior state government officials including Development Commissioner of Nagaland, Ramakrishnan, Principal Secretary of Public Health Engineering Department, M Patton; and Principal Director of School Education, Thavaseelan K, attended the 3rd National Conference of Chief Secretaries held at New Delhi from December 27 to the 29th.

A DIPR report stated that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, chaired the national conference on December 28 and 29. The key focus of the conference was on ‘Ease of living.’

It stated that the three-day conference witnessed the participation of more than 200 people comprising representatives from the central government, chief secretaries and other senior officials of all states/ union territories. The conference deliberated on time-bound action plan to ensure better quality of life for both rural and urban population by better delivery of services.

With special focus on easy access with quality in service delivery, it stated that discussions were held on health care, school education, drinking water, electricity and land records and building permissions.

It added that special sessions on cyber security, aspirational block and district programme, rationalisation of schemes and new age technologies were held. Deliberations were also held on drug de-addiction and rehabilitation, Amrit sarovar, tourism promotion, branding and role of states, and PM Vishwakarma Yojana and PM SVANidhi.

It was the third such conference, the first was held in June 2022 in Dharamshala and the second in January 2023 in Delhi.
