Official rubbishes Covid-19 patient rumours

Dimapur, June 18 (EMN):
State nodal officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), Dr. Nyanthung Kikon has refuted an information and video circulating on social media on June 18 about a person under home quarantine being tested positive for Covid-19 at Perachiezie High School area in Kohima.

Another message was circulated about "one painter tested Covid 19 +ve at Peraciezhie colony- Vishal Mart-High school area, Kohima."

When contacted about the information being circulated on social media platforms, Kikon refuted the claim and said that the information was incorrect. He said all positive persons are sheltered in the respective Covid-19 hospitals.

"This must be about that BRO personnel who tested positive in Zubza. He was in facility quarantine at its base camp at High School and the result was of long back," it was reported.

The Peracuezhie youth president was stated to have clarified that "people are spreading rumours because of the announcement that was made yesterday by Peraciezie youths about a person who tested positive. We are also still not sure whether it is misinformation, rumour or genuine. It will be best to track the person who started this text and confirm from that person."

However, Kikon said a person who was in the facility quarantine in the base camp at High school area was tested positive long ago and that all positive reports and person are accounted in the respective Covid-19 hospital.
