Dimapur, Oct. 19 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Chümoukedima, Abhinav Shivam, has urged upon the head of departments in the district to be mentally prepared for the upcoming state general elections particularly in terms of manpower.

He stated this while addressing the district planning and development board (DPDB) meeting held on October 19 in his office’s conference hall. To make the DPDB meeting more meaningful and action oriented for the betterment of the district, Shivam advised the department heads to give agendas for deliberation during DPDB meetings, a DIPR report stated.

In the meeting, the district TB officer has highlighted on the basic information of National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP) with special focus to Chümoukedima, Dimapur and Niuland districts. She stated that the vision of NTEP was to achieve TB-free in India by 2025 as envisioned by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. The officer further informed that the goal of NTEP was to achieve universal access to quality TB diagnosis and treatment for all TB patients in the community.

She further highlighted on the infrastructure set up of NTEP in Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland and also on the financial benefits to TB patients through Nikshay Poshan Yojana, which is being implemented since April 2018.

As entrusted, Agriculture department made a powerpoint presentation and highlighted on the Agro-ecological situation of Chümoukedima district, land use pattern, crop production status, oilseeds production and the ongoing schemes/ programmes.

The proposal for registration of Biblical Leadership Institute at Dhansiripar was recommended by the house. Besides, opening of new schools namely Royal School in Thiluxi village, Dimapur, and Greenfield Academy School in Ganeshnagar, Dimapur, were also approved by the members.
