Observer reviews e-Roll work in Wokha

DIPR Dimapur, December 20 Electoral Roll Observer V Shashank Shekhar, IAS appointed by the Election Commission of India visited Wokha on 19th December 2013 and held a meeting with Administrative Officers and representatives from political parties. Shekhar, also Commissioner Secretary to the Governor of Nagaland, is in charge of Wokha, Peren, Dimapur, Kohima and Pughoboto. During the meeting, a number of issues related to the electoral roll were discussed. The meeting has decided that the final publication of the electoral roll will be undertaken on January 6, 2014 and all arrangement is all in place for the publication. Further, the observer was informed that ‘de-duplication software’ detected about five thousand suspected double entries. After final verification through the booth level officers, 953 double entries were deleted till date and further verification is going on. With the co-operation from all political parties no illegal immigrants have been listed or entered in the E/Roll. The e-roll observer appreciated the effort of the district administration of Wokha district ‘for an accurate e-Roll’.
