The five-day State level National Integration Camp (NIC) organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sagathan (NYKS), Kohima which began on March 17, successfully concluded at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, on March 21.
The NIC aims at creating nationwide opportunities for largest participation of youth of India irrespective of their caste, creed, family background, sex, language, region, religion, custom, culture and tradition.
Attempts were made for inculcation of the spirit of unity, nationalism, brotherhood, feeling of pride to be Indian, good citizen, scientific temper amongst the youth as well as promote communal harmony in the country.
Altogether 250 youth from Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Bihar, Maharashtra, UP, Assam, Sikkim, Manipur and Nagaland participated in the camp.
In the closing function, Khriehu Liezietsu, Parliamentary Secretary of Youth Resources & Sports and Chairman MTF, was the chief guest of the function.
The participating teams including Uttarakhand, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Maharashtra mesmerizing the audience through their colourful cultural programmes.
In Know India Quiz, Nagaland was declared winner, while the second prizes were conferred to Manipur, Sikhim, and Uttarakhand and the third prize went to Maharashtra. State level Best Youth Club was awarded to Altura Society, Dimapur, with Rs 1 lac and citation. The Best Discipline team for NIC was awarded to Sikhim.
Jackie Ruivah gave the camp report stating that NIC is unique in its own ways in bringing the nation together. She highlighted the various programme taken up during the 5 days programme.
