Dimapur, May 6 (EMN): A reading room named the ‘NL Reading Room,’ was inaugurated, on May 6 at the Billy Graham road, by Dr. Chanchibemo Shitio, press secretary to the deputy chief minister. A note to the media on Monday stated that the reading room was an initiative by ‘aspirants for aspirants.’
The reading room was dedicated by Pastor Zuchonthung Ovung of the Lotha Baptist Church, before a small gathering of friends, families and well-wishers. Shitio exhorted the gathering, the updates stated.
Shitio was stated to have told the gathering that reading was ‘very essential for a person to progress significantly in life.’ He expressed hope and optimism that the reading room would inspire youths to develop the habit of reading and to take the society to greater heights, the updates stated.
“The reading room is aimed at students and graduates who are looking for a motivating platform to take their preparation to a consistent and persistent level, the organisers informed.
“Some of the facilities available at the reading room are local and national dailies and all reputed monthly journals, besides reference materials for UPSC and NPSC, motivational speeches from achievers occasionally and periodic current affairs review.”
