DIMAPUR — The Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD) and the Chakhesang Students' Union Dimapur (CSUD) have lauded the district administration and the Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) over the Nirmal Jain issue.
In a press release, the NWHD appreciated the firm and commendable stand taken by the DNSU in the Nirmal Jain issue.
“Your commitment to upholding justice and safeguarding the integrity of indigenous identity sets a strong example. As rightly emphasised, the process of issuing indigenous certificates must remain transparent, fair, and accountable,” the women hoho stated.
“The cancellation of the indigenous inhabitant certificate issued in the name of Nirmal Jain by the DC, following DNSU’s efforts, shows the importance of vigilance and collective responsibility,” it added.

In a separate statement, the CSUD expressed gratitude to the Dimapur district administration led by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, for the justice served to Naga society in the cancellation of non-Naga indigenous inhabitant certificate issued in the name of Nirmal Jain which, the union claimed, was obtained fraudulently.
“This major step and justice executed, paves the way for stability, dignity and progress; especially for the younger generation where our identity and traditions are not compromised,” the union stated.
It also lauded the DNSU for proactively and effectively taking up the issue from its genesis till its result.
“This stands as a testament of our unity where people with different motives do not hinder our unity, identity, land rights and moral values. The CSUD regards this cancellation of fraudulent non-Naga indigenous inhabitant certificate as a victory for all Nagas,” the union added.
