Dimapur, Jan. 26: Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD) with all its women tribal bodies appealed the State Election Commission (SEC) to extend ULBs civic polls to avoid any untoward incident that might generate chaos for the public in general and especially the children who are gearing up for their final examinations and seeking admission. NWHD also appealed JAC/NMA to withdraw SLP immediately and give space to the State government, civil societies and women in general to prospect Municipal Act without any political bias and prejudice. NWHD, with all its executive members, also requested JCC and State government to set a date and time to resolve the issues inclusive of women of each district of Nagaland within one month time and proceed for uniform ULD civic poll. NWHD also requested all legislators to understand the ground reality by unanimously opting for extension of ULB civic poll and also to amicably settle/amend the anomalies contained in the Municipal Act. In supporting JAC/NMA on 33% reservation for women, NWHD general secretary, Vimeno Liegise, and the vice president, Arenla Aier appealed all tribal hohos and tribal youth to support women’s participation in ULB civil poll for better coordination to bring development.
