NWA mourns former wrestling champion Vecuhu’s death

The Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) has deeply mourned the untimely demise of NWA former champion Vecühu of Porba village under Phek district, who breathed his last in the early hours of March 14 at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) following a brief illness.
A condolence message appended by NWA technical secretary Hukhonieyi Soho today said Vecühu, who was serving as DB under DC office Phek, was declared champion of the NWA 4th Meet in the year 1976 when he was 27 years old. Late Vecühu was also the champion of Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA) 4th Meet in the same year. Describing Vecühu as an honest and discipline man, the NWA said it was expecting him to be guide of the association to set good exemplary lives for the young wrestlers.
The NWA also described his death as a moment of darkness for it in particular and the entire Naga community in general, specially the wrestling lovers.Sharing its pains and sorrows with the bereaved families, the NWA also extended its gratitude to late Vecühu for his immense contributions to the NWA in the past years and also lauded his skilful participation in the NWA meet.
“Though he is no more with us all his good deeds shall ever cherish in the hearts of NWA and all wrestling lovers,” the NWA said while praying that the Almighty God would take care of his soul in eternal place.
