Dimapur, April 22 (EMN): An organisation by the nomenclature of Nehemiah Vision Trust (NVT) has set up a relief camp in remote Longwa village in Mon district to provide food, shelter and care to people including stranded students.
An update from NVT director Talimeren Longkumer stated that the camp is currently providing food, shelter and care to 26 stranded students from eastern Nagaland. It added that the camp is being looked after by six staff from Shalom School, Longwa.
However, the organisers have expressed apprehension in continuing with the relief service if the lockdown continue. Procuring essential commodities is difficult due to the lack of transportation, and given that Longwa is in a remote place, the updates stated.
The press release also stated that no other relief has reached the place from outside the village till date. The organisers have invited other agencies, organisations, and individuals who wish to help to assist the charity work. Willing donors are asked to contact head teacher Wapang Lemtur on phone nos. 8119822805 and 9862779572.
It further informed that on April 11, NVT had provided essential food items to some families residing in the Kuda Mill area in Dimapur.
