Dimapur, Jan. 19 (EMN): Kiphire district health society organised a village health sanitation and nutrition day (VHSND) at Kiphire village on January 19.
The programme was organised in convergence with the district administration, departments of social welfare, school education, PHED, DRDA, NRLM, NGOs, PWD (R&B), UNDP, Poshan Abhiyan, NYK, Anganwadi workers, village ASHAS and village Goan Buras, an update from the office of the chief medical officer stated on Sunday.
Deputy commissioner, Kiphire, Sarita Yadav, who also attended the programme, stressed on the importance of convergence with all the line departments. She also suggested that VHSND should be organised on regular basis with the line departments.
Chief medical officer (CMO), Dr. E Motsuthung Patton, delivered a brief speech on the importance of health care, sanitation, vaccination and ante-natal care.
Besides health talks, other line departments also briefed the villagers on the provisions made available by the government for the community. Other services like ANC, immunisation, nutritional support were also provided during the programme.
