NU hosts workshop on ‘How to prepare for UPSC examination’

DIMAPUR — The Chemistry depart of Nagaland University (NU), Lumami headquarters in Zunheboto district, organised an interactive workshop on ‘How to prepare for UPSC examination’ on May 16 with Chubalemba B Chang, who recently cleared the UPSC examination, as the resource person.

An update from NU stated that the event was organised to celebrate his recent success in clearing the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination.

Addressing the gathering comprising of faculty, students and scholars, Chang detailed the highs and lows of his six-year endeavour to crack one of the most challenging examinations in India. While recounting his repeated attempts and the lessons learned with each try, he emphasised that ‘Persistence is key’ to success.

It stated that his story was one of resilience, marked by countless hours of study, rigorous self-discipline and an indomitable spirit.

Chang shared valuable insights into his preparation strategy including time management, importance of a well-structured study plan and the need for mental and emotional well-being. He stressed the importance of understanding the syllabus thoroughly and advised aspirants to stay updated with current affairs, an integral part of the UPSC examination.

“Each failure was a stepping stone,” he said and encouraged the students not to be disheartened by setbacks saying, “Every attempt made me stronger and more prepared for the next.”

“Chang’s journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and hard work. His success is not only a personal victory but a source of pride for our entire university,” said the head of Chemistry department, Prof. Upasana Bora Sinha.

The event concluded with a question and answer session, where Chang provided personalised advice to aspiring M.Sc. students and research scholars.

It further stated that his visit has undoubtedly left a lasting impact, inspiring many to pursue their dreams with renewed vigour and determination.
