DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Two-Wheeler Taxi Association (NTWTA) held its first futsal championship challenge on April 27, themed “Stronger together” at Perizie Colony in Kohima.

According to an update, Maidan FC emerged as the champion, with Special-7 as the first runner-up, Riders Roster as the second runner-up, and Shaolin Soccer securing the fourth position.

The Player of the Tournament was awarded to Haiso from Maidan FC, while Kesinlo Khing from the Special-7 team received the Best Goalkeeper award.

During the event, M Matthew Yhome, president of the Kohima District Football Association, delivered a speech emphasising the need for a revamp in the approach to organising sports events.

He stressed the importance of enhancing the way people support and treat players to elevate the overall sports experience.

Keneisalie Belho, the President of NTWTA, shed light on the intricacies of the programme and underscored the significance of hosting such sports activities specifically for the drivers.

He emphasised that these events not only serve as a brief respite for the drivers but also provide them with the opportunity to engage in physical exercise, contributing to their overall health and well-being.

Ngusalie Kire, secretary of the organising committee, led the oath-taking ceremony.
