EMN Dimapur, September 9 The NTC public rally was held at Zunheboto town today with several thousands of students, youth, public and citizens from all walks of life. The resolutions adopted at the rally reiterated the earlier Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) rally resolutions at Dimapur on 13th May 2014 as submitted to the government for total revocation of Rongmei Tribe recognition in the State of Nagaland. The rally said the concept of Nagaland Special Development Zones (NSDZs) was found utterly detrimental to the interest of the people of Nagaland whereas, the government has gone ahead to implement it through Assembly resolutions. The NTC said, when NSDZs was carried out in its present form it was going to have immense self-infringement on the existing protective laws. The rally resolved to oppose the Nagaland Special Development Zones (NSDZs) in its present form and urged upon the State Government to thoroughly review the Assembly Resolutions”. It also resolved to authorize the NTC to pursue the matters till the above demands are made. Speakers from different districts greeted the people of Zunheboto town and expressed their grave concern on the decisions of the State Government on Nagaland Special Development Zone and Rongmei Tribe recognition in the state of Nagaland. The speakers expressed their utter shock on how the State Government can sell-out our land in the guise of development when development can very well take place without affecting the protective laws of the State and the Special Law under article 371(A) by which our land and its resources are protected. The rally expressed its displeasure by condemning the rigidity of the State Government on Rongmei Tribe recognition and expressed that the son of the soil cannot rest until the State Government revokes the recognition of tribe from outside Nagaland. The rally also urged upon the Govt. to thoroughly review the Nagaland Laegislative Assembly resolution on NSDZ.
