Dimpaur, Feb. 1 (EMN): Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) has welcomed the unconditional approach of the NSCN (K) led by Lt. Gen. (Retd) Khango Konyak to join with fellow NNPGs and be part of Working Committee in the negotiation for a peaceful settlement.
While appreciating the NSCN (K), NTC media stated that it has proved the magnanimity and maturity of the political leadership, adding the decisiveness of the leadership was the right approach towards the objective of inclusive process towards the desired solution.
While welcomed the NSCN (K), NTC stated that the very action has revitalised the political spirit of the Nagas. It hoped that their joining for the sake of Naga unity would strengthen the ongoing political negotiation and the subsequent reconciliation.
NTC has also appreciated the reaffirmation of the Working Committee on inter-group defection which has become rampant lest curbed with iron hand. It was of the opinion that Nagas cannot afford to give due importance to such treacherous political gimmicks in the midst of charting out the destiny by political negotiators.
NTC also appealed to the Nagas to stand united behind the unity of the NNPGs and lend prayerful support to the negotiation process. NTC further urged the GOI to hasten the process so as to bring the exercises to its logical conclusion on time.
