NTC accepts T Solo’s resignation

EMN DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 17 THE Nagaland Tribes Council has during its emergency executive council meeting on December 15 at Dimapur deliberated on the resignation tendered by its president, Thepfülhovi Solo accepted the same ‘with a heavy heart’. With the president post being vacant, Lendinokdang Ao, vice president NTC, has been appointed as the acting president until such time a new president is elected/selected as per constitution of the NTC with effect from December 15.The NTC complimented Solo’s ‘immense contribution’ as convener of the constitution drafting committee and president at the nascent stage of the NTC further looked forward for his participation and guidance to strengthen the organization in the days to come. According to a press note, the meeting also decided to publish the resolution of the 1st general council meeting held on October 31, 2013 at Dimapur for public consumption. During the meeting it was ‘Resolved to accept the selection of two office bearers from the Angami tribe as submitted bythe Search Committee and as approved by the house on October 12 last as one time arrangement only under extra-ordinary circumstances’. Earlier, the meeting started with two minutes silent prayer and obituary reference to the sudden demised of late N Azu Newmai Zeliang who was an active founding member and one of the advisors of the NTC.
