Dimapur, Nov. 8 (EMN): To commemorate the golden jubilee year, Nagaland State Co-operative Bank (NStCB), Mokokchung Branch, organised a business meet on November 4 in the presence of Sachin Jaiswal, ADC Mokokchung and DRLC chairman of Mokokchung district; Bendangnukshi, Board of Director; Alangla Tonger, DRC Mokokchung; and Amarjit, DDM NABARD.

Speaking on the occasion, the Branch Manager shared on the history of the bank which has grown to be the second largest banking network in the State having 21 branches. He also shared on the adoption of three golden villages by each branch and added that the bank is ever ready to facilitate for any development of the community through loans and advances where some loans may even be provided on subsidy.

He also stated that NSTCB is providing .50% higher interest in term deposit compared to other banks and also 5% on saving bank account.

Amarjit, DDM NABARD, congratulated the bank on attaining 50 glorious years in service to the community. Lauding the efforts of cooperative bank, he encouraged the bank to continue with the same zeal in order to improve the economic status of the community.

Alangla Tonger, Deputy Register of Co-operative Society, Mokokchung, has highlighted on the coordination between the department and the bank since time immemorial. She hoped that both would continue to serve the people. She added that the department is ready to give any support to the bank even in days to come.

M Bendangnukshi Longkumer, Board of Director, shared on how the bank has grown from loss to a record profit of Rs 8 crore during 2016-17. He acknowledged how the DAP had come to strengthen the bank performance and expressed hope that the bank would make another record profit of Rs 16 crore during 2017-18.

Sachin Jaiswal, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, while assuring support to the bank through any administrative hands, cited success examples of Tripura in the field of pineapples. He encouraged the gathering to venture into such area as that Nagaland has more potential than Tripura. He has proposed promoting exports on pineapple, banana and kiwi.

The VDB secretary of Mokokchung village also shared the success story under the model village scheme.
