NST introduces new bus service between Dimapur and Rüzazho village
The route will cover a distance of 156 km

Dimapur, Nov.13 (EMN): The Nagaland State Transport (NST) department in Dimapur on Friday introduced a new bus service between Dimapur and Rüzazho village via Yorüba village.
The advisor of Power department, Tovihoto Ayemi, flagged off the new public transport service, which will be operated on alternate days, at NST Station, Dimapur.
Speaking on the occasion, Ayemi said that the PDA government has been working tirelessly over the last couple of years to fulfil its commitment to the people and the introduction of the new service is part it.
He said that the government working for everyone and striving to reach out to the remotest places of Nagaland for overall development. He also acknowledged the leadership of Transport minister P Paiwang Konyak, saying that the Transport department has seen lots of transformation under him.
The NST department, which has about 213 schedule services and 150 road services, has been working tirelessly and the bus service to Rüzazho village will benefit the entire Chozuba range and Phek district as well, he said. 20 buses would be added to the fleet in the near future so that people can have excess to every nook and corner of the state, he added.
The advisor urged the gathering to inculcate sense of belongingness and eradicate the general perception that “it is government property” as it belongs to the people and ‘it is the moral responsibility of everyone to own it.
Ayemi also appealed to the gathering to support the government so it could work without any hindrance, which will benefit everyone.
Speaking on the occasion, General Manager of NST, Atovi Kiba Sema said that the long-awaited bus service connecting with Dimapur city has been fulfilled.
Sema appealed to the public to treat the property of the department as their own and also extend full co-operation to the department so that it can continue to serve the public without loss in revenue as ‘loss of government revenue is loss of benefits to the public’.
He also requested the people, particularly from Rüzazho village and its surrounding areas to extend co-operation to their staff, crew and safe keeping of the bus.
At the flagging off programme, Dr. Vekho Swuro said that it was a “joyful day” for Chozuba range and Rüzazho village, which is a “National heritage village”. He added that the public transportation service was very essential as the village attracts lots of tourist besides enabling the villagers to transport their produce to Dimapur.
Bus fare and timing
The joint general manager of NST Dimapur, Limasunep Jamir, informed that the bus service will start on November 14 (on alternate days) and the bus is scheduled to start at 8 am from Dimapur and 7 am from Rüzazho village.
The new bus service route will cover a distance of 156 km.
The fare from Dimapur to Rüzazho village via Yorüba village is INR 210 per passenger, as per the notification of Nagaland State Transport Dimapur, Jamir informed. He, however, added that the fare during pandemic will be INR 410 per passenger as only 50 percent seating is allowed.
