Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission wins Best Performing State in the Small State Category for effective PMFME implementation, benefiting 5,520 SHGs and members.
DIMAPUR — In a huge boost to the entrepreneurial efforts of SHG women, the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) was awarded Best Performing State in the Small State Category for effective implementation of PMFME (Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises) Scheme under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India.
The trophy award was presented by Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, Chirag Paswan, during the PMFME Conclave held at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, on August 25, stated a press release issued by NSRLM.
In Nagaland, under the PMFME Scheme, so far seed capital has been disbursed to 1637 Food Processing Enterprises benefiting 5520 self help groups (SHGs) and individual members with a total amount of INR 12.99 crore being availed by NSRLM SHG members.
“The national level recognition is credited to the collective dedication, commitment and teamwork of the State Mission as a whole which reflects the continued effort of SHG women towards strengthening food processing enterprises, empowering rural communities, and creating sustainable grassroots livelihood opportunities across Nagaland,” the release stated.
