NSRLM annual review and action plan workshop underway

Dimapur, June 23 (EMN): To review the progress and achievements as well as plan for the remaining years, a three-day state-level annual review and action plan workshop for financial year 2022-2023 of the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) got underway on Thursday at SIRD auditorium with the participation of managerial staff from all districts and 74 RD blocks.

Delivering the keynote address, Imtimenla, NSRLM mission director, expressed delight to note that the mission has shaped the lives of rural communities with around 1.11lakh households already mobilised in the 10 years of implementation. She said the credibility of DAY-NRLM has increased with a paradigm shift in convergence efforts where other ministries are partnering with the national rural livelihood programme through the SHG networks for implementation of plans.

She emphasised upon the importance of sustainability of the community institutions to ensure continuity to meet targets, while also mentioning that integration and good coordination are key to the success of the objectives.

M Rollan Lotha, NSRLM chief operating officer, highlighted the key achievements of the various components under the mission. He informed that 12640 Self Help Groups (SHG) and its higher level 1065 Village Level Organisations (VLO) and 46 Cluster Level Federations (CLF) have been formed. He stated that 38 federations are being developed as model federations with three registered as cooperative societies till date, while 70 producer groups, one producer enterprise, 4017 youth are successfully running various enterprises under SVEP.

He added that 3917 youth are engaged in self-employment under RSETI, while 1677 youth are placed in various organised sectors across the country under DDU-GKY.

He further underscored the importance of leveraging convergence with other flagship programmes and key stakeholders to ensure nurturing and strengthening of SHG and their federations to evolve into autonomous and sustainable institutions and create an equitable society.

Representative from the MoRD, Prabhat Kumar, mission manager of NMMU, DAY-NRLM, informed that Nagaland has been a forerunner under the mission with an achievement of 96% staff in position, the highest in the country. He said DAY-NRLM is a priority mission with the PMO closely monitoring the progress and apprising participants on the importance of continued upgrading of knowledge to remain relevant in the market.

He informed that the mission was to facilitate the community towards achieving the goal of poverty alleviation. He further mentioned that SHG women across the country have a collective fund of INR 70000 crore which reflects the earnestness of the mission towards attainment of goals.

The workshop will witness district-wise presentations on programme progress; orientation on the NSRLM’s annual action plan for FY 2022-2023; district-block quarter-wise planning with set targets and formulation of plans as per progress.
