Dimapur, July 4 (EMN): As part of its social relief outreach programme, Northeast Sewa Mission (NSM), Dimapur, supported by All People Church (APC), Bangalore, distributed relief packages and assistance to the needy communities in Dimapur.

NSM public relation officer, Lucy Lohe, stated that NSM carried out the social relief outreach programme among the underprivileged groups on the theme “Covid-19 social response.”

It stated that APC and NSM distributed dry rations to 50 families, identified through the local church and public leaders on July 3. The beneficiaries included single mothers, widows, daily wagers, students and siblings from far flung areas.

NSM has planned reaching out to the villages in the Assam-Nagaland border belt in its final phase of relief work.

Lucy stated that “the Covid-19 preventive lockdown has changed the life of every individual in the country.” While the lockdown was laudable to fight the pandemic, she stated that it has also led to numerous problems especially for the underprivileged section of the society.

As thousands of daily wage earners have lost their jobs and are struggling to fend for themselves and their families, Lucy appealed to change the world by helping each other little by little.
