Dimapur, May 23 (EMN): Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) has organised a farewell programme for its outgoing member secretary, Mezivolu T Therieh in Kohima on May 23.
Mezivolu T Therieh, in her speech, expressed delight of learning and experiences that she received through the lenses of the legal service authority. She pointed that the bonding of the legal services in the country is remarkable.
The outgoing member secretary also remarked that the services of the legal authority can only be reached to the marginalised and weaker sections through holistic approach. One of the visible changes and impacts in the lives of people, she cited have largely been through mega legal camps conducted in all the districts.
She added that along with connecting the service providers, beneficiaries have became more visible after the camps, which was much needed in the state of Nagaland.
Noting the many achievements of NSLSA in a short span of time, she said it was satisfactory and remarkable to receive national recognition and reach to the mainstream. Towards this, she said NSLSA has devised various policies and programmes keeping in view the ambit of the various schemes of National Legal Services Authority. She also stated that the court-based legal services are also becoming more visible with the active participation of the State and district panel lawyers.
NSLSA was adjudged the best state authority at the zonal level along with best PLV. The first mediation centre at the Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, was setup besides launching its website.
Incoming member secretary, N Longshithung Ezung, conveyed his happiness to join the NSLSA. He stated that it would be a challenge for him to replace the present status of the member secretary. He has assured to render his best services to keep the good feats alive.
Outgoing project officials were also feted for their services.
Messages were also conveyed from Kohima DLSA, representatives from project officials, and NSLSA staff.
The farewell programme was chaired by NSLSA Project Coordinator, Kezhosano Kikhi.
