NSF Trophy: Asüfü Football Academy, Michazou FC enter QF

KOHIMA — Asüfü Football Academy and Michazou FC secured their spots in the quarterfinals of the ongoing 24th edition of the NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy on Friday.

The tournament, organised by the Angami Students’ Union, is being held at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima.

In the first match of the day, Asüfü Football Academy inflicted a 6-1 defeat on Orami FC.

Asüfü Football Academy opened their account with Jangagin Kuki scoring in the 11th minute, followed by Suzülo in the 13th minute. Bijoy Moktan added goals in the 32nd and 58th minutes, while Suzülo scored two more in the 63rd and 72nd minutes, earning him a hat-trick.

Orami FC’s goal was scored by Vimeyiezo Lüho in the 45th minute.

Jangagin Kuki was given the Man of the Match award. Tepuvikie of Orami FC and Sezülo of AFC received caution for foul play.

In the second match, Michazou FC faced a close contest against New Market FC, with the winner decided by a tie-breaker. During regulation time, Neikedutuo Kiso scored for Michazou FC in the 72nd minute, but Lowly Lunshang equalised for New Market FC in the 90+4th minute.

With no further scoring in the dying minutes, the match ended in a tie. In the tie-breaker, Michazou FC triumphed over the former champions, New Market FC, with a score of 3-2.

Neikedutuo Kiso was adjudged Player of the Match.
