NSF Trophy: Asufü Christian Institute, Sechü Zubza FC reach semi-finals
KOHIMA — Asufü Christian Institute and Sechü Zubza FC advanced to the semi-finals after emerging winners in the first and second quarter-finals played on Monday in the ongoing 24th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2024 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
In the first quarter-finals, Asufü Christian Institute beat Red Scars FC 5-4 in a tie-breaker.
The match also witnessed the flash of four yellow cards: two each for both the teams and the first red card of the tournament given to Matthan Ramrar of Asufü Christian Institute.
Sechü Zubza FC took F4C Academy down 2-0 in the second QF match. Both the goals for Sechü Zubza FC were scored before half time as Hemping netted the opening goal 8th minute into the game while Nisede scored the second goal in the 18th minute.
Meanwhile, James kithan, Custodian of Sechü Zubza FC was given yellow card.
Players of the match were awarded to Thomas Sagolsem of Asufü Christian Institute and Hemping of Sechü Zubza FC.
The third and fourth QF matches will be played on Tuesday. Semi-finals will be played on Wednesday and Thursday.
