Mokokchung, April 5 (EMN): Issues pertaining to the Indo-Naga political talks, and the Inner Line Permit (ILP), and the issue of “backdoor” appointments dominated the discussion hour of the Naga Students’ Federation’s (NSF) 3rd federal assembly that was conducted at Mokokchung village, in Mokokchung district on April 5.
The NSF’s information secretary Shilukaba Longchar said during a telephonic conversation with this correspondent that the assembly appreciated the contribution of the federation to the Indo-Naga political talks and the recent movement for “solution not election.” Also, he spoke about the executive council ‘redirecting its stand’ to a ‘honourable and acceptable solution’ in the interest of the Naga people.
Longchar also referred to the ILP. He said that the federation has entrusted its executive council to pursue the matter with the Nagaland government in regard to the influx of illegal immigrants into the state and to ‘streamline the process’ of IPL administration.
Further, the assembly was said to have ‘appreciated’ the federation’s fight against “backdoor” appointments (illegal appointments) and appreciated the government’s notification on June 6 affecting a blanket ban on contract, work-charge, and ‘contingency appointments.’
The executive council has been asked to be vigilant against such appointments and to work out ‘modalities’ to be placed before the state government to regulate the recruitment process in various government agencies.
