Kohima, Sep. 19(EMN): The Naga Students Federation (NSF) will be celebrating the hundred year after the formation of Naga club under the theme,” Celebrating the legacy”, on October 31, 2018 at Naga solidarity park, Kohima.

Interacting with media persons at Naga club building,          Neingulo Krome, convener, NSF organizing committee said that the centenary will be a Pan-Naga celebration with Naga delegates from Myanmar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Manipur. He added more than 5000 delegates were expected representing different section of the people and Naga brethren from outside Nagaland.

He also stated that the organizing committee was trying to accommodate and people from all walks of life, especially who were a part of Naga Club in the past. He also said the committee will also approach the state government to be a part of the centenary celebration.

Delving into the importance Naga Club in Naga history he stated that , Naga Club not only protected our proud Naga identity but also planted the growth of organized movements, which is today known as the longest running political conflict in South and South East Asia as Nagas unwaveringly fight in their search for an honourable and peaceful political solution from neo-colonial states like India and Burma.

He also asserted that the NSF is organizing the celebration in commemoration of the rich legacy, which our ancestors left behind. He also prayed that the Naga Students’ Federation will mindfully hold that torch which they have handed down to today’s generation of Nagas who stands at the threshold of the future our ancestors had envisioned for us.

Krome on behalf of the organizing committee, also appealed and hoped that the people will reaffirm their pledge of our ancestors on this occasion of the 100th Year celebration- that the struggle for Nagas identity and dignity is just and right and must be pursued till we attain the cherished goal.
