‘6-day window to file too short’

Dimapur, Dec. 13 (EMN): The Naga Student’s Federation on Wednesday demanded that the department of School Education postpone a recruitment examination that was announced on Nov. 30 citing the welfare of aspirants as the period for application was six days starting from the date of notification.
The federation has also threatened with taking ‘action’ if their demands are not met. “Failing to postpone, the federation may be compelled to initiate action against such randomly initiated procedure of examination.”“While appreciating the initiative of the department for conducting the examination, the federation however strongly felt that the window period for the aspiring students to apply for the post was too less, ” the federation stated.
The organisation informed that most of the students were from the ‘ remote areas,’ and that it would be ‘practically impossible’ for students to apply in time except for a few.
It also alleged that the call for examinations was not widely advertised in the media as required. “Moreover, the advertisement was not widely published and was not uploaded in the state portal which is the main source of information for aspirant students.”
‘Therefore, in the larger interest of the students and to give all the aspirants a fair chance to appear for the examination, the NSF appeal your authority to kindly postpone the proposed examination schedule on 16th December and give more time to the students to apply,’ it demanded.
