Dimapur, Oct. 23 (EMN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to recognise the ‘unique Naga identity’ through the Naga ‘national flag which is dear to the hearts and minds of the Naga people’.

In a memorandum to the prime minister, the federation asked the government of India to honour the August 3 ‘framework agreement’ both in letter and in spirit “as it was signed by both the entities in the presence of the prime minister”.

“Solution to the protracted Indo-Naga political issue should be inclusive, honourable and acceptable basing on the uniqueness of Naga history. GoI should focus on ‘mutually negotiated solution’ instead of ‘imposed solution’. GoI should desist from provoking the situation by sending Indian armies to Naga homeland and issuing statement of threat,” the NSF demanded.

The memorandum bore the titles of the presidents of Naga Students’ Federation; Anal Lenruwl Tangpi; Angami Students’ Union; Ao Kaketshir Mungdang; All Zeliangrong Students’ Union; Chakhesang Students’ Union; Lotha Students’ Union; Lamkang Kurchuknao Kunpun; Mao Students’ Union; Maram Students’ Union; Maring Students’ Union; Mongsang Naga Students’ Union; Moyon Naga Students’ Union; Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me; Pochury Students’ Union; Rengma Students’ Union; Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu; Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong; All Naga Students’ Association Manipur; and All Nagaland College Students’ Union.
