Kohima, Sep. 18 (EMN): Calling the attention of Chief Minister TR Zeliang on the ‘absorption’ of an assistant director into the Women Resource Development (WRD) department from the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has sought for immediate redress. In an ultimatum served to the chief minister, NSF stated that despite repeated appeal through the chief secretary’s office, the cabinet meeting held on September 11 last had ‘illicitly approved’ absorption of one post of assistant director to WRD from the NBSE.
It further pointed out that the appointment of the officer who was serving as assistant academic officer has violated the government notification of May 6, 2015 which clearly states that ‘the appointment of the officer as assistant director to Women Resource Development department is purely on deputation basis and shall be reverted back to his parent department on expiry of two years term period without any notice and that, the officer shall have no right to claim seniority nor absorption.’
The NSF has asked the chief minister to immediately redress the matter to prevent such ‘illegal precedent’ in future. It also demanded the cabinet to nullify the office memorandum for ‘approval of the cabinet meeting agenda No. 9’ within 10 days. Failure to do so would force the NSF to resort to its own course of action, it warned.
