DIMAPUR — The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has decided to keep all democratic agitation measures in abeyance over the regularisation of 97 medical officers under Health & Family Welfare department, while opting to engage with the High-Powered Committee (HPC) constituted by the state government to examine the issue.
A press release informed that the decision was taken during the 2nd emergency presidential council meeting of the NSF held on Saturday, following the expiry of the ultimatum served by the federation to the state government on December 20, 2025.
It stated that presidential council took serious note of Nagaland Cabinet’s resolution of February 3, which decided to keep the regularisation orders in abeyance and to constitute an HPC to look into the matter.
The meeting endorsed the NSF executive council to engage with the HPC with the objective of arriving at an “amicable, fair and just resolution.”
While noting that the ultimatum has formally expired, the federation said that all democratic measures have been temporarily suspended. However, it cautioned that all NSF units have been urged to remain vigilant and prepared for further action should the talks fail to yield a satisfactory outcome.
It also placed on record its appreciation for the services rendered by health workers, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic, acknowledging their contribution to public health and welfare.
