NSF observes Naga Independence Day

NSF officials at the observance of the Naga Independence Day on August 14.

Dimapur, August 15 (EMN): Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) observed the 71st Naga Independence Day with the unfurling of Naga national flag by its president, Kesosul Christopher Ltu, followed with an invocation prayer by Jilo Pukh.
President NSF, addressing the keynote address, urged the students’ organisation to come together and act as ambassadors for the elders who were being divided.
He expressed dismay over the fragmentation in Naga army where he strongly believed that “if it is tomorrow it has to be us today.” He further conveyed on behalf of the NSF to forgive and forget the long gone mistakes and to inculcate with the spirit and motive of ‘Nagaland for Christ’ and demand the Naga armies to be united as one.
Jilo Pukh shared the significance of Parashen ‘the struggle that Naga army faced and how the villager stood to improvise by giving land and its requirements to the Naga army,’ where the people faced harassment by Indian army to an extent where history was not most known to all the people.
Short speeches were delivered by federation units wherein they expressed that it was not only a day of celebration but to recall Naga ancestors struggle where they demand to be united and come together to reason together and bring Naga under one umbrella to achieve what was we were seeking for long decades.
Chairman of Sendenyu village also extended gratitude to the NSF and wished them to lead the students’ community and the interest of the Nagas.
The programme was chaired by Holuvi Chophy, NSF auditor general, while the vote of thanks was pronounced by Dievi Yano, NSF secretary of social & cultural.
