NSF MMT: Red Scars overwhelm Thepfüko Krotho 14-0, Phesama YO trounce 12 Tribes United 9-0

Kohima, Oct. 15 (EMN):  Red Scars FC trounced veteran team Thepfüko Krotho FC Chedema 14-0 of the ongoing 22nd NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy organised by Angami Students’ Union on Saturday in IG Stadium here.

During the game, Elminhao Kilong scored a haul while Lalsiem Chonloi a hatrick for Red Scars.

Neikethozo Yhome and Medoneituo scored a brace each while Khrielatuolie, Talisunep and Vikehielie contributed a goal each for Red Scars to progress to the pre-quarters.

Vekhrüto Resu of Red Scars was awarded the man of the match. The award was handed by Vizokho Zhashümo, former ASU President and present ASU Tribunal member.

“Thepfüko Krotho,” roughly translated as men’s fellowship in Tenyidie, are the oldest veteran team in the tournament.

Facing against Red Scars, a team of youngsters in the game, they had suffered a heavy defeat as they failed to prevent their opponents from scoring. Nevertheless, they were content after the whistle accepting the defeat with sportsmanship spirit.

The organisers were appreciative of Thepfüko Krotho, a team formed by a combination of two church denominations coming to promote the beautiful game of football despite their age differences.

In a similar manner, Phesama Youth Organisation hammered 12 Tribes United FC 9-0 in the second match. 

Vikehiezo Mejura scored a hattrick while Theja Chuse and Keleze Chuse a brace each for Phesama.

Nekehiezo and Neisaletuo also netted a goal each for Phesama’s side to seal off the victory.

The man of the match was awarded to Viravoto Seleyi of Phesama and the award was handed over by Sedeneikho Sosahie, ASU Senior Leader.

Angami Students’ Union XI official jersey launched for exhibition match

The ASU XI official jersey was launched by Sedeneikho Suosahie, former Vice President ASU and Chief Manager, ASU Seniors FC at IG Stadium Kohima on Saturday.

ASU XI will clash with Range United FC on Oct. 23 at 1 pm.

2nd Match: Unity FC, Meriema vs Peraciezie Youth Organisation (1:30 pm)
